Vanja Simunko is a Dubai-based filmmaker and visual storyteller focused on creating emotionally driven narratives across film, documentary, and branded content.

With a background in photography, his work evolved naturally into filmmaking—where he writes, directs, and collaborates on projects that explore human stories, high-intensity environments, and authentic moments. His films have received recognition at local film festivals, alongside academic awards for creative and professional excellence.

Currently pursuing a BA in Film at SAE University College Dubai, he has directed multiple short films, worked with professional actors, and contributed to productions as both a filmmaker and writer. His experience spans directing, cinematography, and editing, allowing him to approach projects with a complete understanding of the filmmaking process.

Before transitioning into film, he spent several years working in aviation, engaging with people from diverse cultures. This background continues to shape his work—bringing discipline, adaptability, and a strong awareness of human behaviour into every story.

His work is driven by a simple goal: to create visual stories that feel real, immersive, and emotionally honest.
